91 Voyager 3.3L power loss

Hello All,

I just bought the van with 201k (I needed a beater to and from work). I have changed the plugs, fuel & air filter and inspected the wires. It appears the person I bought it from removed the cat. So, right now the van starts fine and runs great for the first couple of miles. Then it starts to get sluggish and I can hear it backfiring through the air cleaner. At one point I can put the pedal all the way to the floor and it bogs down but does not stall.

I read an earlier post where a person said change the crank sensor. First, is it the same for year 90&91 and approx. where is it at. Any ideas how much it would cost to purchase this part? Any other ideas to help fix this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Will

Re: 91 Voyager 3.3L power loss

Update, I replaced the crankshaft position sensor $37.00 (located under the the driver sider infront of the axle). This did not solve the problem. However, I thought I heard my fuel pump making a sound so I crawled under the fuel tank with a block of wood and a hammer. Hit it a couple of times and it runs like a champ.
