floating gas gadge
my gas gadge is not working right it floats all around and doesnt tell me the right amount of gas levels in the tank i am told that it is some chip in the tank i paid the 15 dollers to dump this GM cleaner in the tank but that didnt work anyone else have this problem?

i have an '04 Venture my gas guage floats around a lot when i turn, take off, and stop. by upto 1/8 of a tank.
after parking, or driving level for a while, it will level out to the proper reading. not sure why it does this. sounds like my float is loose or something. |

my brothers' 97 does the same thing, seems like a common problem. I searched around and I guy told me he put in a can of Sea Foam and it fixed his. I bought the stuff, just haven't put it in yet, I 'll let you know.

if cleaner does not take care of the problem, the sending unit will need to be replaced. im looking for the part number right now but im not having good luck so far. ill reply later if i find it.

I thought most GM's had a floating gauge. They're not dampened, like Fords for example..
