Re: 93 trooper transmission slipping

replace transmission pan filter and pan gasket, available at any napa or auto parts store as a kit, price about $29

you need to place a jack under the transmission and remove all the metal plates and the center support to get to the pan. you may find using 2 jacks easier.
under the center support are two brass bolts which must also be taken off, otherwise you won't be able to take off the pan. pay attention to how everything is attached and assemble it back the same way.

once you have clear access to pan (make sure you are secure with 2 jacks holding up the transmission housing) start loosening pan bolts from one side to the other and have a large plastic pan (kittylitter bottom works) to catch the oil which will start to spill from the sides (about 4 qt)

once pan is off, there are 3 bolts holding the filter in place, take them off and insert new filter
