Finally ready to replace the GSX. (suggestions please)

For those that dont know, I sold my highly modded GSX in Dec (mods in sig), and now I finally decided that its time that I start looking for something to replace my DSM. I finally got about 13k (give or take a little) saved up so I can get something pretty nice. What I'm trying to decide now is what price range I should look in. Like I can just pay off something like a Trans-am, or have some really low payments on a used evo/sti, or buy something higher class like a used M3. Basicly my max is 35k. Any ideas on what I should get?

This is something that I have been looking at the past few days. I went and drove on the other day and the vette is just a totally different beast then my old DSM. Sure the DSM was faster..... but if you've never driven a Z06..... you need to go do it right away. Anyways I'm gonna go look at this tomarrow.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...000&cardist=35

I just love yellow corvettes. And being a Z06 makes it that much better. I bet I could posible talk them down to 28k-29k too. But then I see things like this and it makes me second guess myself.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=64

M3's are the perfect blend of sports and luxury. But then I see this and wonder again.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=12

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo MR...... I can make this thing run 11's with like 2-3g's....

Please guys, can you help a brotha out... I'm open to other suggestions too. Car shopping is so difficult

Re: Finally ready to replace the GSX. (suggestions please)

Normally I would just say, hands down the the BMW, but if you miss that turbo sound (which I bet you do) I would go with the evo. But it all matters what your situation is, which family sedan do you want the "Hey I got some class and my car is faster than yours" or "Fuck you, my car IS better than yours" But also, if you got kids in the picture, would they think your cooler with an M3 or a EVO =D

EVO!!!!!!!!!!!! If it was me no doubt about it I would go with the Evo MR. A friend of mine just got one and that car is amazing.

Re: Finally ready to replace the GSX. (suggestions please)

M3's are pimp shit, but I would guess you would want a car to mod out a bit. The M3 would cost lots more than the Evo and it would cost a lot more to mod. I say Evo all the way. I love Evo's man, I dont know what it is, but they make my juices flow. They are cheaper right off, cheaper to mod, crazy sexy, and you'd still be going 4g63. I would definately NOT get a Corvette, the Evo looks way cooler and with some basic mods would make the Corvette wish it stayed him.

If you're willing to not get another AWD i would choose the Z06 out of all of those. Have you ever heard a lopey cammed Z06? They sound so deadly and they just scream "do you feel lucky punk?"

All good choices but for straight power i would go with the Z06, plus parts are easy to come by for LS1's as well as anything.

I have to say EVO as well, I'm glad I made the upgrade. It's 10 times more car than the DSM was. Suspension, brakes, chassis stiffness, steering, interior room and build quality, etc.

Re: Finally ready to replace the GSX. (suggestions please)

I think you need to decide what type of car you want first. The 3 cars you have chosen to look at are extremely different, man. They're not in the same class at all. You have the z06, which having driven one, they are fantastic cars. No need to mod it besides an exhaust and maybe a cam. It is a great car, but two seats only might be a problem. You have instant torque anywhere, which is nice, and it's a great handler.
The M3 is also a great car, but maintenance will be a pain. It's expensive to buy a BMW, and it's expensive to maintain, maybe more than your DSM. Even the cheapest mods will cost thousands, keep that in mind.
The evo would be if you miss your DSM. It's just a nicer version of the same thing. Obviously, it's a much better starting point, the handling is a plus too.

You need to decide if you want a really refined sports car (M3), a refined but still "raw" sports car (z06), or the "bat out of hell fast and handling" type of car (evo) that doesn't have power on demand

Having said that, out of those 3, hands down, z06. Also don't forget to look at 04 cobras

If I had to choose, I would go Z06.

Re: Finally ready to replace the GSX. (suggestions please)

The M3 is a very tight car but the evo has the turbo and is really rare and turns heads like no tomarrow, bmw's even tho its an m3 are a dime a dozen a lot of places i would pick either one of those

EVO all the way. Get your awd turbo back on! Great car to have no matter what the situation. Snow, rain, dry day, etc You probably are more familiar with the 4g63. I bet you miss that turbo spoiling up and then that good ol pssshhhh.

Re: Finally ready to replace the GSX. (suggestions please)

just remember your asking people with a bias I think most people will say Evo cause well we basically are evo guys. I like their arguments and their true for it. But You basically just sold a car that was the evo maybe even a little better. If I were you I would go for a change and try something new. And depending on your age and family status I dunno what suits you bestl. You can't lose.

Re: Finally ready to replace the GSX. (suggestions please)

For any decent one, far too much . I would suggest a Cobra over a Z06. Mmmmm, or a RX8, S2000, or Audi TT. If I suddenly was rich, I would definately have my 90 TSI AWD, a 99 GSX, Evo, RX8, and a S2000. I am going to go have happy dreams now, goodnight everyone.
