Short shifter on B13 ga16de

I can't figure out how to put on my short shifter. It is a 93 B13 with the GA16DE. I took it apart to get the job done, and the bolts to remove the old shift are on the bottom of the unit. Meaning I cant get them off. I can see exactly what to do after I get this off, but am stuck for now. Has anyone don this before, and can you give me instructions?

I have an 05 Spec and I had to lift the car and remove the heat shield from the exhaust to get to the bolts for the shifter.

i was just going to say maybe try from under the car, i had an adapter that goes on your actuall tranny to shorten the throw so i havent done the actuall shifter

it's been about four years since i put my shifter in. i know it was a royal pain, but i can't really remember what the trick was. i know that i did have to get under the car at some point. sorry, not much help.

I was pondering the short shifter. Was it a good buy? Which brand would you suggest? I was thinking Nismo.
