94 Starter issues

I have 94 K1500 with a 5.7. My starter doesn't want to turn over the engine. It just clicks once and thats it. It doesn't seem to be binding. I have checked all the connections. I replace the starter a week or two ago when the old one did the same thing. I have replaced the battery lead and the ignition switch also. Not sure what else to do??? Any Ideas would be great!!!

Thanks

Re: 94 Starter issues

How is the negative battery cable? Check to see what voltage you are getting at the starter motor while you are cranking the engine over.

Re: 94 Starter issues

Thank you. Probably should have been one of the first things I checked but I think that was it all along. I replaced the negative cable and all seems to be well now. Now on to all of the other issues the truck has.

Thanks again.
