Code P0111

I drive a '05 Stratus SXT (2.4L DOHC). I have installed an air intake on the car and it runs great, but after about a month the CEL started coming on. When I reset the ECU via disconnecting the ground it stays off for around 100 - 300 miles before returning.

The codes means - P0111 Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Performance

The word that is getting me is "performance" as opposed to circuit or other. Would this mean that the IAT is bad, missaligned, or other? And is the IAT actually the MAF, or a different switch?

Any thoughts on exactly what this means or suggestions?
