97 Lesabre Dynaride
Hi all, I have a 97 lesabre with dynaride but the air compressor doesn't seem to be working, is there a relay or fuse for the compressor and if so where would i find it? thanks.

Re: 97 Lesabre Dynaride
Dynaride...seems like every GM equipped with it has problems of one kind or another. I do believe that there is a relay for the compressor...but there is also a level sensor that could be faulty as well. Unfortunately, I am not familar enough with your year of car to tell you exactly where these components are.
I believe the relay would be with the fuses in a box in the engine bay area, near the firewall. If not there, then they are more than likely behind the lower dash on the passenger side. As for the autolevel control....This issue comes up enough that if you did a search of the forums I'm sure you would come up with plenty of info since dynaride is so problematic. Welcome to the Forums! This is by far the best place to get great information about our cars from very helpful people...a couple of which are GM certified mechanics

Re: 97 Lesabre Dynaride
Alibi was right about these sytems being problematic! There is a fuse for ELC but it will more than likely control other components as well...just check your manual for fuse locations. The LeSabre may be different, but my Park Ave's relay for the level control is under the dash sound insulator, passenger side. There's a label down there that shows which one is for "ELC". You can swap relays since they are all the same for a simple diagnostic check. If not that, jump your compressor to the battery and see if it's not the culprit. And of course there is the level sensor, underneath! Good luck-

Re: 97 Lesabre Dynaride
FWIW
My 98 had a problem with no motor working. I checked at rear with circuit diagrams at the control arm and the pump and found no power. Checked all the way from the relay in the MaxiFuse Relay Center, through the relay in the area above the right passenger's foot and the connector in the trunk on the right hand side and finally found it was a broken wire that goes from inside the trunk out to the control box. It had broken from flexing in air and slush and rain behind the rear wheel. I put another wire in the grommet bundle and bypassed the bad one. |
