Spark Plugs keep filing down, Stalled takeoffs
My 96 LT keep filing down plugs. When starting you can sometimes hear them pop. I have changed them 3 times just this year. Also, I just replaced the fuel injectors, fuel pump & factory muffler, had a hole in it spitting black stuff out & rattling. Had the converters checked out for fear of them breaking off, leaving break up in the muff. Installed a new dual intake muffler but im still feeling lack of power. Off the pedal stall feel when taking off. Please Help ASAP! MJ

Welcome to your first post on AF We are not ASAP helpers. A lot of us have regular jobs and other work to do. So bear with us . Give us time. Just like good wine good work takes time. Tell us more on the filling down. Do you mean burning the tip off or something else? What brand and part no plugs are you using in it? What engine does it have? MT

Re: Spark Plugs keep filing down, Stalled takeoffs
Hey MT thankx for responding.
"Do you mean burning the tip off or something else?" (Yes, 4 were burned out.) "What brand and part no plugs are you using in it?" (AC Delco/Rapid Fire) "What engine does it have?" (350 5.7 2WD) |

Re: Spark Plugs keep filing down, Stalled takeoffs
Thanks for the response. My 4 of my Plugs looked burned up when I replaced them. Ever so often when cold starting I'll hear a pop. I'm using AC Delco Rapid fire plugs 2 WD, 350 5.7L.

Also check dist cap and rotor and plug wires. And make sure you us a AC-delco cap and rotor. And find someone with a engine capable scanner and have the cam retard off set checked and reset if it is more than 2-3 degrees - or + from 0 setting. If it is way off centered the extra gap on rotor to plug wire terminal will increse spark voltage. MT
