Will take 1/4 times down by a bit. BUT you will experience much better cornering and handling with the low profile tyres and increased diamter etc.

If you're concerned with the 1/4 mile times, then i wouldn't even be thinking about chrome rims...

I think they can look okay on a car. What kind are you thinking of getting? any pics?

just get some highly-polished forged alloy wheels. the alloy material is very lightweight, and because they're forged they wont crack, are lighter than cast alloy, and are stronger than cast alloy. And if the material is highly polished it looks just as good as chrome.

chrome rim's are not that much heavier then a polished rim of the exact same size and make. maybe only by a couple of ounces.

My point is that chrome only adds a few ounces. If you take a lite wheel and chrome dip it you have a lite chrome wheel. That wieghs only a few ounces more then it did before you chromed it.

well then you're not talking about chrome wheels you're talking about chrome plated wheels. if they're talking about 1/4 mile altering wheels, chances are hes looking into solid chrome, not plated. And solid chrome is MUCH heavier than forged alloy. And if you're paying for forged alloy chances are you're trying to reduce the unsprung weight because they're an expensive investment, so i dont think anyone would chrome plate forged alloy
