996 gt3 racing engines?

I saw a couple of porchse gt3's on ebay with racing engine in them producing like 4xx all motor hp at the wheels. Im just wondering if there are shops which actually build all motor porsche racing engine like those, and if there are, any websites? Thanks.

Re: 996 gt3 racing engines?

There are def. some shops out there that can make porsche engines like that, unfortunately i don't have any links off the top of my head. But I would expect to pay a premium price for them. Those are really complicated engines (if your looking for a modern porsche 6 making that kind of power). What kind of car do you want to drop an engine into?

Re: 996 gt3 racing engines?

Most Porsche shops that do any engine work could make this kind of power out of a GT3 engine. RUF however could easily do 500+ Hp without the use of any sort of forced induction. I don't know where your located but find a local road track and chances are you would find a shop that could build you a Porsche engine with the power you like. With Porsche you pay for power so be prepared to pay a LOT for a high power engine.
