Why can't I post pictures?

Guys, a little help...
Why can't I put pics in my post? Is it cause I'm listed as newbie or something? In my "rules" at the bottom of the page is says "you may NOT post attachments"

There have been a few times now I'd like to post pics....any help would be great!

Pictures take of a lot of disk space on the Forum's Hard Drive....

I have a nice way to make this possible and have used it here and elsewhere
on other Forums, Newsgroups, and in E-Mails.

Go to

www.imageshack.us

and join it. Only requires a valid E-Mail address. I use my Hotmail address.

Once you are a member, you 'upload' any number of images to that site.

You are given several "Links" which you can copy and paste into this or
any other Forum. They are the [img]blah blah blah[img] links.

Then when your post comes up, the Forum gets the image from ImageShack.us
and plops it into the post.

For E-Mails - use the http: link and then the person receiving just clicks the
link and the image shows up on their browser.

This way, you can send images anywhere w/o having to attach them each
time.

Here is one I have stored with ImageShack.us.....

I used it here in a previous post. The image is stored permanently in ImageShack.us' hard drive.
There are MANY sites that will do this for the public.

You can delete the image if you screw-up the upload or want to change it.

What do you think of that....?

Try going to Google and typing in

Image+hosting+site - or variations on that theme.

You will see that there are many such FREE sites for Pictures, Videos and Audio files.

God knows why they do that service - what do they get out of it?

A whole world of stuff to play with....

Nice! Been wanting to do that on my son's Plymouth Neon.

Name of polish...?

Describe the process.....

Did you have to polish only the outside of the plastic ?

Does it improve the headlight brightness and beam visibility at night?

That is to say - IS IT WORTH DOING?

How much polishing? - my son's headlights look quite frazzled....

DoctorBill

PS - I use a graphics program (PhotoShop Lite) to make all my photos to
......72 dpi and 6 inches wide before loading onto ImageShack.us...

......Makes for a more harmonious outcome....

Re: Why can't I post pictures?

Wow, that engine is CLEAN! I wish I had a camera yesterday. I went camping nearby. It had rained on Friday, so when I was leaving the dirt strip of crown land we were camped on, I needed to get a lot of speed to get out through all the mud. It went fine until I bottomed out, ran through a puddle of mud that went up, into the engine compartment and covered every square inch of motor tranny and electrical. My poor metro totally stalled out! I thought that I had severed a fuel line. After pouring about 3 gallons of water over the engine, and checking that the distributer was dry, I got it started again, although grumpily.

I drove 30 km with the air bag light on? The idle was ow for that first 30 km as well. It's good now, but I thought that I had royally messed it up for a while. I'll say this again. Metro, great in the city, but not for off-road!

Re: Why can't I post pictures?

The polish? I found it at Autozone, in the back corner where they keep sandpaper and buffing pads and all that body stuff. "5 minute optical polish" The kit was only about 12 bucks. It comes with six pads and a device to attach the pads to your drill.
The pads already have the polish in them...all you have to do is wet the lenses, wet the pad and start buffing them off. Usual stuff, be gentle, not too long in one spot...yada yada yada. Once you dig your drill out and get set up, you're done in 10 mins.
My headlights had gotten pretty bad. I'd say the amount of light getting through was only about 25% of the "new headlights" amount. After polish, it wasn't like brand new but I'd say it was up to about 80/90 %. Worth the money? Definely.
Buff....rinse off...buff...rinse off...stand back and admire...buff again, change pad, admire, take pix...buff more....what fun! I wound up using only four of my six pads.
Thanks for the compliment on the clean compartment jai! I try to keep it clean...ya know, just open the hood when it rains and such
