Check engine light...again

My wifes '96 Stratus' CEL comes on when she is low on gas, seems to go away after she fills tank, but not always. Bought a new cap, jury is still out on this tho.
On my Jeep, by using the correct sequence of egnition switch on/off i can get the codes.
Is there a way to do this on a '96 Stratus?

Yes there is. All you do is cycle your key 3 times in 5 seconds, then wait and watch.
