2000 LS bad caliber
The back tire area was smoking - needed a new caliber at $270.
Last month, the coolent ran out - that cost $100. Now when on a highway, the acceleration feels like it is hesitating at times, any ideas on that ? Car has 55,000 miles. Not a very reliable car. Rhona |

Re: 2000 LS bad caliber
Is your LS the V6 or V8? Knowing that will help some of the experts here pinpoint potential problem areas for the particular car.
As for the hesitation on the highway, you'll probably need to describe the hesitation better before we can offer much suggestions. Are you familiar with what a missfire feels like? It will be roughness in the way the engine is running and will result in a loss of power. What is happening during a missfire is one or more cylinder(s) is not properly firing during the power stroke. Than can be due to lack of proper compression, lack of proper air/fuel mixture, or a lack of spark. On the early model year LS, this is most often due to a coil pack that fails to fire the spark plug due to oil leaking from the valve cover gasket. Another fairly common issue that can cause a hesitation is a vacuum leak, although many times you will notice that at lower speeds as well. -Rod Last edited by shorod; 06-04-2006 at 12:15 AM. |
