Semi-Oscillating RPM
My problem is just as it reads. My problem is when my engine is idling or I'm neutral my RPM's tend to go down then return to normal, they never increase. But this happens everytime I'm at a red light or when I park my car. Feels like the car wants to stall but it doesn't. Feels like my engine is 'sputtering'. The check engine light comes on once in a while but I think that's from my O2 sensor, b/c I have a CAI. Not too worried about that.
I did some research on here and checked all my vacuum tubes and turns out there's no leak, plus I even went ahead and changed the PCV valve. I also changed the fuel filter. Still no help. I remember there was a link somewhere in these threads relating to oscillating rpms and I went through it, no help. So I figured it might be: I need new plugs and wires New fuel pump Clean the fuel injectors I decided to come on here and ask you guys b/c some of you guys really know ur shit . Plus I don't want to do all the above b/c I don't have that kid of $ to toss around. So any help would be great.BTW: It's a 95 Integra SE -Joe |

anyway, if you have a CEL do you know for sure its an O2? if not get it read ASAP and that will be a big step in your diagnosis sounds like a bad/clogged IAC valve (idle air control valve) its located on the back of your intake mani. behind the throttle body, remove it, get some brakleen or parts solvent and clean it out, it that doesn't change anything, maybe it needs replacement and fyi, a CAI will not throw O2 codes, most of the time only a bad O2 sensor will throw a O2 code

Re: Semi-Oscillating RPM
Pull the spark plugs and see if there is any abnormal coloration. That'll let you know if something in your engine is running wrong (too lean, too rich, too hot, etc, etc). If that's the case you'll prob have to replace the plugs anyways. Could be the fuel pump. I've heard of cars going down the road and choking out and stalling because of bad fuel pumps. Not a good thing. I'd definately say pull the code on the CEL next time it comes up though. And fuel injector cleaner is only a couple of bucks a bottle... get some... it might help and it's not that expensive.
