What do I do with these?

I just got some speakers for my project car. When I opened the pair that is going in the dash, Infiniti Reference, a pair of capacitors in a bag fell out. They are axial caps rated at 50 volts and 100µF. The manual doesn't even mention these.

Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do with them?

there high pass filters for the tweeters. removes freqnecys less then 200hz usually. put them on the positive wire when you wire in the tweets

Should be a higher number than 200hz for a high pass to tweets...

Re: What do I do with these?

Are they component speakers or, bi-axial etc. If there comps then the crossover would clean up the signal to the tweets and the bi-axial speakers have the "bass blocker" already wired into the tweeter so there is no use for these. Not sure why they would put them in there ive never seen them from infinity, but ive gotten some strange shit from certain companies.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: What do I do with these?

I believe they are component speakers, at least they are according to Infinity's website. They are the Infinity Reference 3012cf.

Re: What do I do with these?

Poly, a componet speaker has the Mids and Highs seperated, a co-ax has them togather on the same frame.

Cross over point is dependant on impeadance and capasticance as well as inductance. capasitors are used for high pass, inductors for low pass.
