transmission trouble

my 4l60e only had first and reverse, so i bought a kit and "rebuilt it". Now I only have first and no reverse what did i do wrong and how might i fix it?

Um, due respect here, but no one was watching over your shoulder as you tried to do this, at this point pull it and take it to a trans shop. Also there are several online trouble tree diagnostic aids for any trans condition, just google for it. BTW, welcome to af, sorry not able to offer more definitive help, but the possibilities are beyond my typing patience.

Did you put a new torque converter in?tThat is part of a transmission rebuild and the ones painted dark blue are the best ones.The old converter has the old fluid and crud inside that will ruin the rebuilt transmission.Most transmissions shops put a new torque converter in the rebuilt transmission
