CO2 spray?

I was thinking about the cooling sprays that some people do with NO2. Do you think there could be any gains from spraying CO2 to cool off the radiator, fuel lines, around the intake pipe, or the ambient heat in the engine bay or anything else? Since CO2 tanks are cheap and fillups aren't that pricey either. Any thoughts, has been tried already, doesn't work well?

Re: CO2 spray?

even on a N/A car? I'm really interested in the use of a water/alc injector. How you would use it? Injection into the intake? Spraying down the radiator? Killing some of the ambient air in the engine bay?

Re: CO2 spray?

its been done before there is a company called cryo2 that makes a system. in cool weather there will be little to no gains and decent gains on a hot drag strip. really it is desighned for cars that are high power and are having trouble keeping cool. on a stock or even mildly modified car i wouldnt bother.

not necessarily, the use in low hp cars is astonishing too, it helps keep ambient temps down witch in turn lets you run leaner and add more timing w out the fear of DT

alot of people DONT like hte concept of mixing alc nad water and dumping it into their engine, plus there seems to be a little problem w the injectors cuz alcohol likes to eat up plastic and rubbermaterials and can eat away rubber fuel lines and eat the injectors/o rings up

I reallly wouldn't want that to happen, especially on a newer motor... what about running straight water or something else the isn't as corosive?
