Clicking Relay in 2000 Blazer?

I have this clicking sound in the right passenger footwell area and no electrical power to anything. Chevy said it may be a relay and that if I can get the Blazer to them, they will be happy to fix it. Any chance I can change the relay myself and save $$ and time? I have to charge the battery and try and start the car to drive it there...I'm a great nurse...but I need help with cars! Thanks in advance for any help! ShereeVT

Good news is relays just pull out and plug in.
Bad news is I do not show any relays on passenger side.
But have a look there if that is where the clicking is coming from.
But it may be more than a relay or something else.
First if battery is dead you will need to charge it and see if you can get to and feel or find the relay or what that clicking is.
If a relay. Then pull it out and get the part no off of it and get a new one and plugin new one and see if that fixes the problem.
I would also keep it out of the garage or outside untill you get it fixed.
It may have a short someplace that could cause it to catch on fire so be on the safe side.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Re: Clicking Relay in 2000 Blazer?

Blinker and flasher relays behind the glove box and probably the multifunction switch in the steering column. See the post link that tells the story. Run your VIN at the dealer because 2001 were covered and 2000 also may be. Usually the newer ones loose the rear brake lights but not the top mounted brake light (diff circuit) cause the main brake lights and flashers are the same circuit (and bulb filament) but the blinkers are a diff one.

Re: Clicking Relay in 2000 Blazer?

ShereeVT - I went through the same problem a few months ago. This might sound wierd, but does your windshield wipers act kind of funny, like they don't work sometimes or don't shut off sometimes or work, but don't seem to stop all the way down (they'll hit the lowest point, then come up about an inch or so)?
I used to have that clicking and it drove me nuts. Turned out that after I repaired the wiper motor pulse board, the clicking stopped. I thought that I was going to have to change that multifunction switch.
