Jaguar MKII in 1/43
Thought I might show my first build since restarting modeling after the teenage years.
The subject is a Provence Moulage resin-kit in 1/43 of a Jaguar MKII. Of course I had to choose British Racing Green. The crome on the body is Bare Metal Foil. Comment please! ![]() ![]()

Re: Jaguar MKII in 1/43
Wow - that looks great, especially for such a small scale! I built a Starter Alpine A110 years ago & found it was very fiddly due to the size.

Re: Jaguar MKII in 1/43
Nice job! I've built the Alpine, that Jag is a lot more difficult by comparison, and you did a great job with it... - Mark

Re: Jaguar MKII in 1/43
Wow, that BMF must have been a pain at that scale. Great job!

Re: Jaguar MKII in 1/43
you could have lied and told us it was a 1/24 or 1/12 and i dont think we would have questioned you. Great job!

Re: Jaguar MKII in 1/43
Thanks for all kind comments!
The color I choose was Humbrol #3 (after some research on the net I found out that British Racing Green is not one particular color, the manufacturers had different shades of green that they named BRG, and some manufacturers even had different shades on different cars). The Bare Metal Foil was quite fun to work with, it was my first try actually. Even though the crome strips are about 1 mm wide they adhered beautifully and was easy to trim with a sharp scalpel. I found out that the important thing is to have the BMF to adhere to the surface prior to any trimming. And it formed nice around the rear light houses. The interior in the kit was quitte plain, so I had to scratch build door sides, gear stick, pedals and steering column. For the exterior I added some scratchbuilt brake discs, but not visible in the pictures. /Viktor |
