Why Relay Why????
I just got my brand new fuel pump relay, and it's a brand new fuel pump relay but it's not the one I took off and threw out. I've been sifting through garbage pails until I decided I oughta get a new one anyway but I have a few questions that possibly only GOD could answer but I'm letting you try.
1. What are those three relays next to the driver's fender and on the firewall for? one I know is the FPR. This is so I know what the heck to replace the one I tossed with. 2. Why did my fuel pump turn on when I had the actual FPR out BUT It didn't turn on ever when I had the relay closest to the fender out? Is it possible that those connectors were switched and that's what's been screwing up my Fuel delivery? 3. What is the meaning of life?

Re: Why Relay Why????
There are 2 realys for the MAF, one is the burn off and the other is the MAF power itself. The one in the middle is the fuel pump (the regulator has nothing to with it)
The F/P should be interchangable with one of the MAF ones, but not the other. |

Re: Why Relay Why????
OK, you kind of lost me there in your interpretation. Obviously you'll know when you found th fuel pump one, because the pump will prime up. I don't remember which MAF relay is interchangable with the pump, I want to say the burn off. So with that one out, it should still turn over and run. The burn off only comes on AFTER the motor has been shut off to clean the MAF sensing wire.

Re: Why Relay Why????
That's what's killing me, FPR?
Normally FPR means fuel pressure regulator.

Wanna tell me what this Burn-Off relay does before I get a new one? or is it the MAF? it's the relay closest to the driver's fender of the 3 relays. This still may mean the fuel pump is fine or alteast satisfactory but I really need to find a surefire way to replace that fuel line to the filter and get the other relay back in.

Re: Why Relay Why????
Well, simply it's to burn off the sensor wire of any crud that builds up on it. So it's basiclally a a self maintnance mechanism, and IT IS needed.
You have to fix that line up right. |

Re: Why Relay Why????
The sensor that is right after the dual air snorkel, just before the throttle body.

Re: Why Relay Why????
The fan relay should be in the battery tray area, so its nowhere near those 3 relays
