95 Grand Am won't start
Okay, here it is. I have a 95 Grand Am that wont start. We have tried replacing the sending unit for the fuel pump twice now. No go. We have replaced the relay switch for the fuel pump, still no go.
Has anyone had this issue with their Grand Am before? My ex that is currently trying to get this thing running for me tells me it definately has to be something with the fuel pump, maybe electrical. We dumped a little gas into the carburator and it started up for a short second. So, it is not receiving gas for some reason. Any ideas? If you need more information let me know and I can ask my ex. My car knowledge is very limited. Thanks for any assistance! I want my car back! sosmith Indiana |

Re: 95 Grand Am won't start
Welcome. Try the fuel pump fuse and the fuel pressure regulator. Sounds like something is not getting a signal to the pump, or the regulator is bad and not allowing fuel into the injectors. There is something else, but I can't think of it right now. Anyone else have ideas? I'm thinking crank position sensor, not sure if that would be the cause or not (gotta love those 60 hour work weeks).

Re: 95 Grand Am won't start
put a test light on the fuel pump terminal to see if you have power there while cranking the engine. If theres power try a fuel pressure gauge. Could be a bad pump or clugged filter.
