you can get them at checkers or most autopart stores...as far as the radar situation it is BS...I saw it on mythbusters :-)

They do make some that block the flash on cameras, i'm not sure they work though.

Re: where I can get those licent plate cover

I've heard that radar detectors work only when the signal shot by the gun hits your license plate and back to the gun and that's how they get the reading. So I heard that if you aim the plate towards the ground then they can't get the signal back to the gun. Just what I heard. True?

Re: where I can get those licent plate cover

No, it bounces off your whole car. You can radar anything, not just a car and nothing else has license plates. I saw that mythbusters too. That spray shit to make the camera not see your car is bullshit. Just get a radar detector.

Re: where I can get those licent plate cover

The license plate thing I can confirm but not for use with radar but with lazer. You are trained to first target the license plate and later the tail lenses.

The license plate covers are suppose to cause it to not reflect the lazer as much making it hard to get an accurate reading. Therefore the cop has to do it again trying on your tail lenses. By then you shoudl have hopefully slowed down. Assuming you saw him/her.

Personally I wouldn't waste my money on those products get a radar detector and drive safely. Not just so that yourself is safe but so that you don't cause problems with the other idiots on the road. Note: I never said you couldn't speed lol.

I never heard this before, but it doesnt work that way.

The cops Radar gun does NOT just send out one single beam. It send out two: one towards the ground and one at a flat surface, mainly being your license plate, because that really is the only flat surface on your car. So the cop usually aims for your license plates because since all cars have different shapes and sizes, the size and shape of any license plate is ALWAYS the same, so that is the universal object that they aim their gun at. NOW the gun reads the speed of the car and the ground (which isnt moving) and after a bunch of calculations it shows the cop how fast you are going!

SOOOO, we should all go outside to our cars and bang-up and dent up our license plates!!! LOL

I am sure its not, but a rule/law like that varies by state. Go to you DMV and find out, but I would think that it is legal. In my state, SC, only a rear license plate is all you need!!

Re: where I can get those licent plate cover

I think it runs off the speed of the patrol car not the speed of the ground.

That's why they can gun you while they are driving and know how fast you are going.

Re: where I can get those licent plate cover

Also is it true that they can't get your speed when they are behind you? I know that when they are right behind you they can just pace you, but what about when they are like 2 blocks behind ya, can they get ya?

If they have a clear line of sight they can.

Most of the time when they pace you it's because they don't have enough time to get the gun on you.

That's why atleast when I have been pulled over I was doing way faster than I actually got caught for. It's because he was only able to pace me for that far. He didn't have enough time to get his gun on me.

Re: where I can get those licent plate cover

I wonder how they radar you if you don't have a front plate if what you guys say is true, because I don't have one even though my state requires it (WI).

Re: where I can get those licent plate cover

I just got pulled over for no front license plate. I've had the car over two years, first time I've ever been pulled over in it, hehe
