SE-R Engine into a Spec-V? Answer this for me

Heres the situation. My car is being repaired, whats happening is my spec-v is having its engine replaced at the autoshop. Ive been talking to the guy, asking 100000 times, THIS IS THE EXACT SAME ENGINE of a *Spec-V* correct? he says yeah yeah yeah. But my question is.... is there ANY WAY for me to know if the engine that they they put into my car is truly the Spec-V engine model, or the slightly toned done SE-R engine? The difference would be about 5 horsepower, and about 5-10lbs of torque from Se-R -> Spec-v. Ive asked over and over if this guy was absolutely sure, but I want to know for sure he didnt pull a fast one on me and i got jacked. Is there any physical way of me opening up the hood and checking out the car to know for sure that he didnt put that standard SE-R engine into my Spec-V?

lol, dude they are the EXACT same engine, the extra 5-10 hp comes from an exhaust system and slight ecu tweak, the motor itself is the exact same though........so there would be no way to tell because they arent different

alright. are you absolutely sure though? im definitely no expert, but i dont get why the hell reviews and websites say the motors are different in SE-R standard and Spec-V... i dunno, i just want the car to run EXACTLY the same way it did before it was broken... is that how it will be?

lmao, cmon man, you're way too paranoid. The engines are EXACT. Seriously, you're stressing too much, your car will be better than ever. Trust Nissan, even if they were different engines,(WHICH THEY AREN'T) the cost difference would be so insignificant that Nissan wouldn't care about pulling a fast one on you. The real issue that you 99% won't have to worry about it just making sure that they are giving you a new engine instead of rebuilding your old one. Simmer down, bro

yeah i would be more worried about them just fixing your current engine than what they replace it with
