PROBLEM 3.1 car RUNNING BAD!

okay guys i posted about this before,
my 92 lumina 3.1 car is having problems! here to start off ill list the parts ive replaced, spark plugs, wires, ignition control module, had coils tested at autozone came back as good, new fuel pressure regulator, new crank position sensor, oxygen sensor, and a couple of odd and ends,

now to the problem:
started small, now big, i would be driving and the car would just be cutting out once in a while, motor would stall at stop signs, and stuff, and now i cant keep it running, when its running its real rough , running SUPER rich, back fires, getting it started is a task. i have to pump and hold the accelerator to even get it to seem to want to start.

reall getting to be a hassle to fix it, im thinking its prolly the fuel pump, or coils, fuel filter was replaced a year ago, guess wouldnt hurt to change it.
could it be out of time?
BTW no engine codes either.

Re: PROBLEM 3.1 car RUNNING BAD!

The fuel pump could be the culprit, so next time it dies, turn off the key and stick something in the fuel pressure test port and note if any fuel or air bubbles come out. If pressurized fuel is the only thing that comes out, then i'm 99% sure the pump is good. What i'm leaning towards is an overheating coil.. You can pick one up at autozone for about $20. An extra "known good" coil is handy to have when dealing with a hot coil. Just keep swapping them until you find the culprit.

is it intermittant, or alwyas will not start and run good? could your timing chain have some slop in it and be causing it to run real rich? just a thought.

Does your car need to have the crank position sensor calibrated(i think thats the word im looking for). On some gm cars when its replaced the ECM needs to "learn" the new signal its getting from the sensor.I dont know if yours does but its worth looking into.
