interior lighting

I wanted to wire some interior lights in my car without using the cigarette lighter. Can anyone help me with a schematic showing me how to hook it up and which wire is + and -. Can you hook it up to a 12V source in the dash or does it have to go to the battery? Also, what about fuses and gauge of wire?

any help is appreciated

thanks

Re: interior lighting

a fresh wire from a good Pos source would be best.

Re: interior lighting

your talking about hooking up some neons right? i have 3 in my car and all i did was run some wire from the battery through the firewall then hooked up to some switches. that works fine for me. unless u dont want to mess around with running it to the battery.

Re: interior lighting

I ran a separate fuse panel off of my main fuse panel, Then ran all my lighting though there, That way each line is fused and the the panel itself has a fuse, that way if something messes up (like my damn underglow kit catching fire) then you are safe
