Re: cosworth vega?
2.0 litre, twin cam "Lotus" engine. Most of it was produced by GM in Detroit, but the head and induction came from England.
I wasn't aware of (that doesn't mean much...) of a '75 model, as that year required a catalyctic converter. I drove a few '74s. Hot little car! It would STOMP a "normal" Vega (what wouldn't?). The biggest performance info I recall, is the handling and road-racing ability of the car. It was quite good. Should be a good collector, but I wouldn't look at it as a "speculator". Engine parts must be custom made. Jim |

Re: cosworth vega?
how would the car hold up to today's sport compacts? i heard the vega was only slightly more potent then the chevette so i suppose i could liken the cosworth to say the yenko or was cosworth more for the motor?

Can't say. I never thought much about the Vega either way...

Re: cosworth vega?
probibly the only reason im looking at this is because my dad used to own one... and he used to say how he got in more races in that thing then he did his nova (which had a mildly hopped up 350).

Re: cosworth vega?
These were big collector's items for a while. Regardless of performance, here was a street car with a RACE engine from the factory! And Vega GTs were always noted for their handling.
Haven't heard much in recent years. If you find a clean one, don't race the snot out of it, keep it CLEAN and original. Anything this rare should be worth bucks someday. |
