Angry Car down AGAIN!

I posted on this forum awhile back about my eagle talon, I just sunk nearly 1000 getting it fixed, which i think was an extreme ripoff. but anywho, I was driving it the other day and it missed real bad and the engine cut off!
when it finally started the check engine light came on. So luckly I was only 2 blocks from my house. I got in the car the next day to see what would happen and it started right up and the check engine light isnt on but when I started to back it out it cut right off about 4 times before it would finally go around the block. When you get it going past 35 it wants to miss and cut out. I wanted to ask some of you guys what could be the problem now, before I go and get ass wrangled again! lol

Thanx

Re: Car down AGAIN!

It would be helpful to know year, trim level, mods, what you've had repaired, etc. before you get any type of useful help.

Re: Car down AGAIN!

Don't ever go to the dealer to get your car fixed unless you absolutley have to, they rip you off hardcore. I always take it to a local mechanic if I can't do the repair myself (which doesn't happen much now anyways).

As for your problem, have you don't a tune-up lately? Plugs, wires, filters (oil, air, gas) and just the regular maintainence? Other than that I'm thinking it might have something to do with the computer or a faulty sensor or connection somewhere.

What was wrong with your car last time?

Re: Car down AGAIN!

You can go to autozone and have the code read for free that might help narrow the problem down a bit. Anywho? I see there's a Simpson's fan among us.

Re: Car down AGAIN!

my car is a 95 eagle talon non turbo and about 3 months ago had a new computer and new fuel sensor put in. THey charged me the cheap price of 999.99 I've had the oil changed and had the plugs and wired changed about a year ago. THe last time the computer went out it wouldnt even start. The car has 95,000 miles on it which isnt that much for a 95. Also 2 years ago I had the whole engine redone for the exception of the rings.

Re: Car down AGAIN!

Wow, a year for plugs would make me a little nervous. Even if plugs are not your problem I would still change them no matter what.

Re: Car down AGAIN!

How often should you change the plugs anyway?

Re: Car down AGAIN!

Well if you don't run it as hard as most of us on here do then you should be good a bit longer but, I change mine about every other oil change sometimes earlier if I run the crap out of my car.

Re: Car down AGAIN!

Thats what I cant understand the car is not drove hard at all. Its drove in town and since the major repair I havent drove it out of town on a trip or anything just trips to the store and local. I would think that for that price I should be able to drive to China and back without any problems, If that would happen I would be shickeled titless.

Re: Car down AGAIN!

Girle, in town driving is actually harder on your plugs (and engine in general) than highway driving because of all the stopping and going. At least change your plugs, and like ez said, take it to Autozone and have them read the codes. Even if the CEL isn't on anymore, it will still be stored in memory as long as you don't disconnect the battery.

And EZ, no I'm not much of a Simpsons fan, sorry.
