Question Front Strut Brace Required...

Ok I've searched all over and have not found a strut brace for my Civic Si and now need help.
I've spent the last 6 weeks loving the underside (welding/dust/bad back etc) and suspension is next on the list so feel I deserve a brace.
If anyone has a used item or knows of a firm that can supply such an antique you could make my day...
Or...Maybe someone knows a brace that is similar that can be modified fairly easily?
Be quick or the kitten gets it

Re: Front Strut Brace Required...

www.heeltoeauto.com has Cusco strut bars, Ebay, or www.redpepperracing.com

...as mentioned in this thread:

Personally, I'd invest in stiffer torsion bars, rear springs, rear sway bar, and adjustable struts first, you'll notice more benefits from these mods than you will a strut bar. You won't notice any gains from a strut bar if you're using it in conjunction with your soft stock suspension. A rear sway bar should be the first thing on your list if you're doing suspension upgrades. A stiff rear end will help reduce understeer which helps you turn faster.

Re: Front Strut Brace Required...

Thanks,i've had a look around for sway bars.Is the one on my donor teg worth salvaging or is it the same diameter as the Si?
Ordered springs today but undecided on struts. Our roads are like tracks, full of holes and speedhumps

Re: Front Strut Brace Required...

No matter what you do keep your stock front sway bar. The stock rear sway bar in the CRX axle is 15mm (not including CRX HF), the Teg rear sway bar is 17mm, the Teg SE rear sway bar is 19mm. It's up to you wether or not it's worth swapping in the 17mm bar, my opinion is no, just pick up an aftermarket rear sway bar.

I'm using a CRX HF rear axle (because it doesn't have an internal rear sway bar) along with a Lightspeed 19mm rear sway bar, 300lb coilovers, and Koni reds (I actually need stiffer rear coilovers to keep up with my 27mm torsion bars). The rear of my car is stiff enough that I 3-wheel it going in and out of driveways or diagonally across speed bumps. When I use the rear jack point, I only need to lift one side of the car a few inches before the rear tire is off the ground. But this is just an example, you might not want to go this stiff in the rear on your daily driver.

Re: Front Strut Brace Required...

Yep your right easier to buy new bar.I was going to do a temp. job on suspension and wait till I strip teg to do all in one go but i'm itching to get it done soon.Could do with the donor teg out of the way too.got an auto civic i bought for spares hangin around too looking sadder and sadder.
Do you know if the rear sway bar aftermarket part is the same for teg and civic si?Also do you know a link about fitting?
Questions questions...thanks for the help!
Like the sound of your set up,you'd hate the roads over here.Is there much adjustment in adjustable shocks?
