Thermostat housing bolt torque
99 Accord LS. Could somebody confirm/deny the torque settings for the thermostat housing botls. The Haynes repair manual says 104 in-lbs. Are they serious?!!!

Inch pounds...not ft pounds.
Just slightly snug is fine. bottomed out and about 1/8 turn past, should be fine. You can always tighten it more. Can't go less once it breaks.

120 in/lbs is about 10 ft/lbs.
So you are talking in the area of maybe 8 ft/lbs, which your torque wrench won't show...that's why they use the in/lbs scale, and a different wrench type...
