Exclamation Spec V tires

okay guys, my tires are about done. I have 70k miles on my spec and i'm in need of new rubber. I've searched the forums because I remember you guys saying what tires would be best for the spec under ALL WEATHER conditions, but I can't find anything. I need something that grips well in bad weather and even better in good weather. I'm looking for a performance tire "around" 100 dollars that has a really nice agressive looking tread.

Re: Spec V tires

i lub my kumho ecsta's.........get them in 225/40 and youve got some rubber, the steering wheel doesnt even budge when i cruise through deep puddles and shit, and since they are wider than stock they handle really well too

Re: Spec V tires

I'll just come out and say it... I don't know anything about tire sizes. I know the 17 on the end is the size of my rim, but other than that I'm stumped. I REALLY need new tires soon, I can't put it off much longer. There are several different types of ecstas. Would it still help if I got the tire the same size as stock? I still want the low profile look, so I'd like to keep that measurement the same. Sorry to bring up an old post, I thought it would be better than making a new one. I would like to keep the price under 300. What do you guys suggest?

Re: Spec V tires

ok. do this. go to a good tire store like discount tire or tire rack and ask for the same size tire in the brand bridgestone potenza RE950s. they are very good in the snow and decent in the dry weather also. its really all a comprimize when it comes to winter vs summer. it depends on where you live. if you dont get snow, get potenza RE750s. they are great in wet or dry but bad in snow. thats pretty much the tradeoff you go with. tires that are snow worthy arent going to be the best in the dry weather but you can get a few that arent bad. if you really need some summer tires, go get a set of steelies and slap some haakepolitas or blizzaks on them for snow, then put some falken azenis RT615s on your stock rims for only summer. slightly expensive, but rt615s are probably the closest thing to R compound tires you can get and still be good in rain.

Re: Spec V tires

Are you sure about these tires? Most of the sites I have been to have some pretty bad reviews. What's wrong with the ecstas?

Re: Spec V tires

well im not sure for reviews but i have experience with the tires i listed. im not sure which ecstas are being talked about here. im assuming ASXs which arent bad either, but not wonderful. my ex-GF put those on her '01 SE and they are ok, just not the grippiest in dry and not the best in snow. but they do handle water decently.
