Cat got shut up in blazer & messed up interior

What can you do about a headliner that is ripped across the top of windshield? The cat also ripped the soft fake leather at top of the door? There are two holes. The one spot is fairly small & still has the material. The other spot is larger about 3"x4" & the material is pulled out... the foam is showing. I checked the internet about getting some kind of vinyl tape to put on the holes (I knew this wouldn't be perfect-looking but it would be economical & at least you couldn't see the holes). I thought about getting some kind of fabric binding for the headliner instead of replacing the whole headliner. It is a 1992 Blazer with tan (light deer) interior. PLEASE any advice would be appreciated.

1. get new cat, that one is worn out.

2. find a shop that does interiors and ask them that you would like to try to fix it your self, and want some advice and / or material to fix it. unless the shop is fulll of heartless jerks, they will help if you ask nice.

3. google 92 blazer interior repair and about a thousand replies come up from turn key to custom to do-it-yourself parts.
4. De-claw new cat.

Call your insurance agent. If you have good comp insurance it may be covered under puttie cat damage.

There is More than one way to shin a cat.
My son shut a beagel hound up in one and he even ate the steering wheel up.
As said a uphostier shop can help.
Good luck MT

They'll ofen let you take the headliner off yourself and re-install it yourself. This both saves a lot of money, and usually gets the job done fast.
When they have to take the interior they seem to like taking weeks, and even months to finish the job.

I think that I paid about $150.00 Canadian to get my headliner done, including the sun visors (you want those to match as well)

Guess cat and light deer don't get along . Since there are numerous ways to skin a cat ( none of which are acceptable to the cat) but cat hair can be dyed to match .
There are some recipes you might interested if you eat putty tat . I prefer it raw myself , HAHA . Rob

Re: Cat got shut up in blazer & messed up interior

I had a similar story about animals and pest getting caught in the
engine when parked in garages. I had mice rats and sparrows
make nest in my air filter chambers..how they got in there I have
no idea.. I even had cats sleep on my radiator at night and when
I opened the garage door the cats all ran out..the mice didn't quite
make it a few of them got churned up in the alternator and fan belt.
( I have a private garage they must be getting in from some small
crack in the foundation) these pesty rodents can get into anything
just make sure you have your windows rolled up...
ps, my serpentime belt didn't last long after chewing a few of them...

A great way to keep pest out of engines etc when storing is Bounce fabric softner sheets. I have friends that use them in campers and boats. Works great and the cost is small. Just spread them around and go! I hear they also work great for keeping misquitos away -

Re: Cat got shut up in blazer & messed up interior

Just making sure that everyone here understands that it isn't the cats fault that it got locked in the car. I'm sure that if it could open a door or if the window was open far enough I don't think that it would have done the damage.

There are just some things that people have to take the responsibility for, and this is one of them.

And at only a couple hundred bux it's a pretty cheap lesson.

Re: Cat got shut up in blazer & messed up interior

Yeah ....I once had a border collie....they get easily bored and will entertain themselves...usually being destructive....anyway I had pulled my Chevy II in the garage to do some work on it....I had to leave for a bit and had left the back door to the shop open.....and drivers side window was down...well I guess he thought the interior was a play toy cause I got back a few hours later and had about 2 grand in interior damage....and a new dog....lol...I gave him to my sister who has a ranch...it was everything I could do to not skin him ...but it was partially my own fault cause I knew he did crap like that....cause the time before that he had chewn as high as he could from the floor a 4 foot patch of drywall... and insulation....anyway to make a point ...animals can be like people and will act out if bored or trapped....
