'93 V6 Iac
Have had some difficulties with the wife's '93, traceable to the IAC. I cleaned it and the TB a bit two weeks ago when she complained of a stumble and really doused it today when she reported an almost stall condition. The problem seems abated for now. I may have to pull it and really try to clean it up good if the problem recurs. Does this one have a gasket that I will need to replace? I'd prefer to have the gasket on hand if I'm going to need it as the two local dealers are not actually local nor are the parts departments seemingly competent.
Any guidance would be most appreciated. TIA DFB |

Re: '93 V6 Iac
Dont waste money on the gasket for the IAC, in my 96 4cylinder, the gasket is made by steel, just clean it. I think V6 should be the same.

Many thanks for the heads-up, Popeye. One less thing to deal with.

Re: '93 V6 Iac
Popeye,
Pulled it apart and the V6 gasket is steel as you noted. Shop manual lists it as non-reuseable. Local parts places had no listing so it instantly became reuseable and it all went back together fine. BTW, torque spec is 9 ft/lbs on the two bolts. |

Re: '93 V6 Iac
It is hard to imagine it is nonuseable. Thanks for being informed though.
