Oy Vey, Hatch almost took a ride on it's belly!

So I replaced my shitty rusty Rotors with brand new Brembo Rotors. I bought this Torque Wrench so I could properly Torque them down to prevent any warping. So after about 2 hours and dealing with some problems that got in the way I got it all together and it was good. So then I go driving around, brakes seem about as good as before. So then after getting gas I can hear a bad noise coming from my passenger side wheel. So I pull over and check it out, brakes look fine, but then I grabbed the lug and I was able to turn it with my fingers, so it wasn't even tight, but I (thought I) had Torqued it to 80 ft-lbs. So I just got out the wrench and tightened them all until they stopped. So then I went about my way and everything seemed ok. But I was still distrubed as to why the lugs were so loose after being Torqued down. So I go on some websites and do the math and 113 NM is about 80 ft-lbs so I knew I was right on that. So then I'm just messing with the Torque Wrench and I notice something, it doesn't say Foot-Pounts, it says Inch-Pounds and I'm like "ohh shit!" So basically my lugs were only tightened to about 30% of what it should be. I could have lost my wheels or something. So tomorrow I am going to take the Wrench back and get the proper Foot-Pounds Wrench. The gay thing is I have to go back and properly Torque those bolts again but oh well. I hope this didn't mess up anything.

...make sure you go back and retorque after you drive around for awhile...lugs sometimes loosen up after 50 miles or so....

my first vehicle was a 80 k5 blazer lifted on 33s....I guess I didnt tighten my lugs all the way on one wheel...come around the corner and I see my wheel rollin down the street ahead of me as my truck grinds to a halt on the dust shield....luckily, that was a thick ass dust shield and protected my rotor from the street

a guy at my old school had a full size chevy truck 3500 series and he was going down the highway and one side of his rear dually wheels just came off randomly.... truck slammed down on the rear end and basically totalled most of the drivetrain back there.

U dont need to torque lugnuts, only thing u need to worry about torquing is inside the engine, other than that its not neccesary.

Are you High!?!?! you should ALWAYS torque bolts down to specs.....what about a hub nut... i dont want my hub coming off as im doing 80 down the freeway.
