99 burb has no power after starting up. Mechanic has replaced intake manifold gasket, fule pump, and security unit, sensors and its running worse than before.

Now he wants to replace all fule infectors, I have $2K into this already and its not running, HELP...anyone have any ideas?

Engine miss?, why was the work done? If he did this work for an original problem and it still exists, this forum is not the source of your help. The problem is too vague and he should be held responsible for correcting the condition, not shot gunning.

Surely he "shotgunned" the cheap parts like a $8 fuel filter before $2K on injectors.

Re: 99 suburban no powerr

Just wondering what you mean by K& H filter,.... fuel filter, air filter? What exactly was your suburban doing?, Mine seems to have no power when i want to pass other vehicles. even when in park when i step on the gas the RPMs wont go above 3,000 but if I gradually step on the gas it does fine, can anyone help?

Re: 99 suburban no powerr

Think he meant "K & N" filter? the H and N keys are adjacent.

If it was, and it was clogged, it should have been serviceable, as in wash and re-oil. Maybe the second shady mechanic wanted to swap a $5 paper filter for your $50 K & N.

Before your next automotive problem appears, do yourself a favor and find a GOOD diagnostician to locate your exact problem, even if it's a GM dealer. We don't want you to waste any more $$$.

Re: 99 suburban no powerr

I bet he messed up the timing and didn't get the distributor back in place during the intake manifold removal/replace. You will need to take it to the GM dealer and use a Tech 2 scan tool to readjust this.

I bet that is what happened. It is so important to get the distributor exactly back where it was.

Anyone else had this happen?

Re: 99 suburban no powerr

Sent dealer to service mechanic and they replaced $1400 of my $2000 bill. They agreed they missed this one and appologized for the mistake. They still stuck me $600 in parts, but a bird in the hand is always good.

come to find out the only issue was that the K&N filter had been cleaned last year with oil and the dust had gummed up in the intake and had to be cleaned. Once cleaned ran like a gem. This mechanic also installed the excaust manifold wrong and it leaked.

Lesson learned go to a GM tech!!!
