Keyless Entry Fobs

My mechanic has in my opinion de-programmed my keyless entry fobs! By him doing this I have no use of my power locks, etc. I have tried to follow the usual suggestion of how to re-program the fobs but no luck. Should the procedure work (as suggested at this forum) or is there something else I must do to fix this problem? The mechanic told me he took the fobs to the Mercury dealer and they advised him the fobs are OK. If that is so, why don't the fobs work? He said I need a new "module", but what is that?
Many thanks if you can help!
Jan

Re: Keyless Entry Fobs

I don't know how this form says to program but I just did one for my son's 2000 cougar, the remote I used was from a 2005 Focus. The way I did it was to sit in the car and turn the key from the off to on position 9 times and then push any button on the remote, you may have to do this a few times.
Good Luck
David
