Removing sliding door panel

Is there a trick on removing the interior panels on the sliding door?
I want to try to pop out a small ding.

Thumbs up Re: Removing sliding door panel

Shouldn't be too tricky. You need to watch for fasteners (screws or bolts) that may screw into the door assembly for the handles and such, other than that it should be straightforward.

I've removed both door panels on the front doors this way and later, I plan to remove the hatch panel to get at a small ding myself.

I used a small putty knife and a 5" broad knife (used for applying joint compound) to pry the panel from the door assembly.

Work the two blades around the panel, slowly pulling it away from the door frame until you can get your fingers underneath to pull. The panel should be held in place with white nylon or plastic fasteners.

If you break the odd fastener, you can obtain them from most auto parts stores or a shop that sells body supplies. Alternately, your dealer will have them (at a greater than nominal charge I might add!)
