Polyurethane coating..ever tried it?

I recently bought my brothers 1993 Jeep YJ it's mechanically in fair shape and runs well but looks pretty rough, definately needs a new soft top and the bars are pretty scratched there's also a couple of rust spots. I don't really want to spend alot of money on the cosmetics. I found a website selling a DIY polyurathane coating that can be used both on the inside and out of jeeps. It's called "Durabak" so I was wondering if anyone out there has tried it or something similar, was it easy to use, did it work or was it too good to be true?
