TBird throttle sticks

Help me please, my wife's new to her 2003 TBird with 18K miles, only 2 months old for her has developed a sticking throttle. When backing off the accelerator and applying the brake for a stop the engine continues to run on and it's all she or I can do to hold the brakes to keep from running the stop. It's happened 4 times now with allways the same criteria.
We're looking at shop time but I'd like to avoid it if possible. Anyone out there heard of this?
Regards,
Steve Paul

Re: TBird throttle sticks

Clean the throttle body. That model may have an electronic throttle connection, but if not make sure the cable is clean and in good working order.
