Stealth gas mileage

Just a quick question before I buy a stealth, the guy I have been talking with said it got about 15mpg. Is there anything I can do to increase mileage? I know I could replace the airfilter but how much would that do? And this stealth has a mitsubishi engine and tranny in it, which makes the shifter sit rather low. Are there any longer shifters I could buy or would it be too expensive to bother with? thanks.

Re: Stealth gas mileage

No long shifters that I'm aware of. 15mpg is kinda low, maybe if it's a TT and you race it around town. In my TT I still get like 17mpg at it's worst.
To increase gas mileage, change your filters, fluids, keep an eye on your tire pressure. Exhaust mods help. Driving technique really plays a huge factor too.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Yes, I agree, 15mpg seems pretty terrible. Depending on how I drive mine I may get around 20-22mpg on average. Highway I can get 27mpg but I am N/a.

Re: Stealth gas mileage

Engine and tranny were and always will be Mitsu in Stealths. That has nothing to do with how the shifter sits. He probably has a short throw in it. Either that or you are used to seeing the huge 91-92 shifters.
