Transgo shift kit...need installation help

I'm in the middle of installing a Transgo Shift kit (SK 4L60E Series L). I'm having trouble removing the Pump Stator Pressure Regulator. I got the snap ring out but I can't get it to come through. Do I need to drop the transmission or remove something else to get it to come out. The instructions on this thing really is for the experienced transmission mechanic but I couldn't find a transmission shop nearby to install this for me. Also having trouble removing the plastic pistons on the 1-2 Accumulator and the 4th accumulator. Is there a magic tool?
