Future Floor Wax Help.

Ok. First off YES I did search. lol. I sprayed my wrangler monte carlo with Future. The wind picked up as I was spraying and I ended up with dirt in the paint on the hood. I read that Amonia will stip the wax off, as will windex. My concern is the big decal on the Hood. I do not have a spare, and the decal sheet is OOP. Is there a way to strip the wax down to the paint and decal without damaging the decal. Would it be best to go at it with some 2000 grit, get the dirt out and re-spray with the future?

Re: Future Floor Wax Help.

How large an area is affected with dust? I'd try and let it dry hard, and then lightly sand with 2400, and not to heavy so as to start rubbing the decal if the dust is over the decal...

I've had the same problems with X22, but mostly dog hairs.. I just sand it out, but I'm not a big user of Future, I find it too watery, and runs etc... I know your not meant to sand it, but in your case you'd perhaps apply another coat once the dust is sanded out..

I know I read someone "did" strip clear from a CF hood once, and it didn't take the CF decal with it... I can't remember who it was.. I'm sure it was VRIC. VRIC, if it wasn't you, sorry for mentioning your name..

If you're decal is irreplacable, there's nothing I would trust to strip future that I would be confident would leave the decal alone. You might get lucky, but I wouldn't bet on it. Would you dip a newly decalled body in Windex? I'm sure I wouldn't. Sanding out the contaminants would be a safer option.
