overdrive gear slips

After running over a large piece of wood, which I thought or hoped I could clear, I don't have my overdrive gear, I have to push the "O/D off" button to engage the transmission. Nothing leaking underneath. Haven't jacked the car up yet to eyeball underneath for damage. Any ideas what could have happened to the overdrive gear?

Re: overdrive gear slips

Maybe a cable connection got disconnected when it went over the wood.
