97 civic has p1298 fuel air mixture code
I have a code p1298 manufacturer control fuel air mixture. Anyone know what component failure causes this one? The car is running very rich and very bad, and doesn't have enough power to move. I checked the air intake system and it's fine with new filter, wires and plugs are newer and look good. No bad vacuum hoses, and I can't determine which is the MAP sensor to see if it's clean or not. I'm stumped!!!

Re: 97 civic has p1298 fuel air mixture code
I changed the fuse to clear the code p1298, but the car still runs bad and has no power. It is undriveable. It moves on level ground if you give it just a little throttle slowly. If you give it enough to take off it kills the engine. I am fixing some body damage on it so it took some time to mess with the engine, but now I am ready to drive it. Do the MAF sensors get dirty on these and cause them to run poorly? I had that happen on a Ford once. If so, where or how do you access the MAF? There are no codes to help out. The engine has good compression, and plugs/ wires/ air filter.
