problem with my brothers 90 626

my brother came home the other night and his car was acting funny. first, no matter what gear it's in (besides park) it will slowly move foward when the gas pedal is pushed (even in reverse). As for being in park, it seems to want to go foward, but the brakes probably stop it. we were guessing the tranny is to blame or maybe a cv axle. He said it wouldn't go over 20 mph with the rpms almost redlined. Any help would be nice, thanks in advance.

THis is typical of warped transmission clutches. They have probably overheated from slipping and now they are warped hence applied all the time even when no hydraulic pressure is applied....or something is blown in the body valve and all gears are applied at same time....or the like.
