2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Transfer Case; Types And Fluids

Hello,

I am currently changing out the transmission on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Limited 4WD. I have concerns that the fluid I purchased for my transfer case may not be the correct fluid. I've tried researching the different cases and fluids but I was unable to find out any specifics. Would anyone happen to have information on the different types of transfer cases and their respective fluids? Thanks!

Hi, I've got the same vehicle, 4.0 liter. Owner's manual states that for the TC, "Mopar Automatic Transmission Fluid or equivalent labeled Dexron III".

I have Amsoil synthetic ATF in mine, and no problems.

Thanks! I feel foolish, I thought I had searched every page of the manual but I guess I over looked some things.
