2001 Z24 tranny code
who knows what transmission is in the 2001 Z24 cavlier with a manual? i know its a getrag, but i cant find out which model... or if anyone knows where i can find new parts for the transmission that would be great too because all i even really need is new synchros and a new 2nd gear set...

did you find out what you needed?
I'm curious because it sounds like you had the same problem as I have now. My 03 cavalier will not stay in 2nd gear..... I'm thinking it's the syncro as well did you fix your problem? is that what it was?

yes that is what it was, but i ended up just tearing it out and completely rebuilding it. the metal from the synchro had taken out my ouput shaft bearing as well so it needed a complete overhaul.
