1995 Thunderbird window replacement
To make a long story short, my 1995 T-bird was T-boned. The frame is straight and the car doesn't have full coverage, so I went to the scrap yard and bought a used door. I have everything switched out already except the window, and I'm planning on doing that this week.
Is there anything special I need to consider when taking the window out? I am assuming I need to roll the window down a little bit, undo the bolts or screws that are holding the window to the arm/bar, and the window should come right out. The window seems kind of big to fit through the space, but I am assuming it will go out if I tilt it towards the outside of the car. Is this correct? Am I crazy to think this is possible? I have one window to practice on so I can break it and its ok. Thanks! Last edited by Manchas; 05-28-2006 at 09:39 PM. |

Re: 92 passenger window replacement
I hav'nt pulled a tbird glass out, but I will worn you to watch out for the spring loaded bar if you pull it out throw it on the ground to release the tension then have fun with it I know a tech who nearly lost two of his fingers because he forgot, even though he did enjoy workers comp it still sucked.

Re: 92 passenger window replacement
Hey Muscle...thanks for the warning about the spring.
I got the window and door changed with no problems. The window was actually fairly simple and I didn't come close to amputating a finger or even drawing blood. |
