Sears owned me...

Today after working 8 horrible hours at work I drove to Sears to see about getting a Torque Wrench since it's an important tool to have and I want to make sure my Lugs are tightened to spec after I put on my Rotors so they don't get messed up. So I was going to buy a $25 gauged one because it was cheap and effective. But of course when I get there they only have the gauged one that goes to 75 ft-lbs, when I think lugs are supposed to be 80 ft-lbs. So I needed something more. The other ones were mad money, like $70 and up. So after searching the store for a loose Torque Wrench without luck I decided to just look at the expensive ones. So finally I decided on a 3/8s drive one that can do 25-250, as that would be more than enough for anything I do. So then I bought one. Total was $73. It's worth it as it was a valuable tool but now I am poor for the week.

Craftsman is damn expensive but they give you the lifetime guarantee, next time check ebay before shopping actual stores prices are usually cheaper on there.

You think sears is expensive try buying from snap on or mac. that same $73 torque wrench from sears is like $200 from snap on. Sears owned me for about $8000 in the last few years.

If you bitched enough I bet you could get them to replace the Torque Wrench, it is a handtool and I believe all handtools are covered.

But I mean if you use it properly why would it break? I hand tighten the bolts as best I can then just use the Torque Wrench to finish it off.

Torque wrenches actually can break pretty easily depending on construction, let me just say do not ever drop one. EVER

well i should say that my torque wrench wasnt the cheapest one they had, it was the most expensive one. they probably replace those cheap ones but i doubt they would replace the most expensive one. they didnt replace my torque wrench

but what i did was went to the sears repair center and i had it repaired and it cost me about $60. so it was cheaper than a new one and my repaired one works find now.

yes never drop a torque wrench

You could probably just go buy another one and then return the old one in the box, as long as it didn't look visibly damaged.
