Relay for A/C
My 84 733i has just started having a problem with the A/C dash buttons. When I turn on the fan and then push A/C nothing happens. So I tried all the other settings and still nothing. Then when the Defrost was pushed it worked. Went back to the A/C button and it came on after trying several times by itself. The light would blink and atempt to kick on. Because it's intermitant (sp) I'm thinking maybe relay. If so, does anyone know where it is located on this model?
BTW, already checked fuses and they are fine. Thanks in advance

Under center front air intake cowl is your compressor clutch relay, but if I was you, I would disconnect the switch in question and try to visualize which two wires the switch is bridging when pressed, then I would connect those two wires manually to see if ac works then.
Oops - just realized how old this question is - well ikk-isaac resurrected this question before me.
